POWERS OF 10 PERSPECTIVES
Students start identifying and exploring topics, issues, and needs that they care about in the world around them by taking a human-centered approach.
KEY WAYFINDER TRAIT: Responsibility-seeking
ESTIMATED TOTAL TIME: ~ 65 minutes
MATERIALS NEEDED: None
This activity was a challenging one to design for, as it this trait really is more multi-dimensional than most of our other Wayfinder Traits. “Responsibility-Seeking” is really about three things:
- Having an awareness of, and interest in, the world around you (balancing out being Keenly Self-Aware)
- Cultivating a desire to contribute to the world in a meaningful, pro-social way, and
- Having this desire be fueled by real empathy for, and understanding of, others.
So it’s a combination of having an outward focus, a desire to take on impactful work, and being guided by an authentic understanding of human needs, and not one’s own determinations of where help may or may not be needed and/or wanted.
