Brandy is a Program Manager at West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT), working in the Step Year and Community Catalyst programs. Before joining WMCAT, Brandy served as Youth & Inclusion Specialist at Kids’ Food Basket, focusing on youth development and co-leading the organization’s equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Professionally and through community involvement, Brandy is passionate about creating equitable access to opportunities and giving students the tools they need to be successful in school and in life. Brandy serves on the board for cycling non-profit The Spoke Folks, is a member of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation Advisory Council, and volunteers her time with various organizations including the East Hills Council of Neighbors, Grand Rapids Public Schools, KConnect, and the Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit leadership team. She is the recipient of the 2016 Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Do-Gooder Award, the WGVU Person of the Year Award in 2017, and was recognized as a Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Brooks College Outstanding Alumni in 2018. Brandy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at GVSU and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications at Eastern Michigan University.
